To stick, or not to stick

...that is the question.

As a matter of fact, we as makers, want both: when the printer is printing, we wish the print sticks to platform as firm as possible to ensure a 100% success rate; but when the printer finishes its job, now it's your time to pry that part from the print bed ---- see the problem here?

The "old-fashioned" way of separating your finished 3D prints from the build plate is by tearing the print off, or to use sharp tool such as a knife or scraper to pry it off. The first approach is very likely cause your precious print to break, and the second method can easily damage your 3D printer's print bed, not to mention that prying action with knife or sharp scraper is EXTREMELY dangerous.

I know you are looking at those battlescars on your hand right now: Makers more or less have some kind of battle wounds during their campaign with their beloved 3D printers.

So, is it even possible to have a build platform that both sticks AND not?
